How to set up Google Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Wealth99 account. If an attacker manages to acquire your email address and password, your account will still be protected.

Before you start:

Ensure your device’s time is set to automatic. (See Item 1 in this article for instructions.)

Enable Google 2FA:

Google 2FA generates a 6-digit code through the Google Authenticator app. Follow the steps below to set it up:

1. Once logged in, on the left menu of your Wealth99 account, go to Settings.

2. Select the 'Security' tab.

3. Click on Primary 2FA to enable the 2FA

4. You’ll be guided through the setup process:

  1. Download the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.

  2. Open the app, tap the “+” icon, and scan the QR code displayed on your screen.

  3. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the Google Authenticator app to complete the setup.

5. After setup, a backup code will be displayed. This backup code can be used to disable 2FA if you ever lose access to your authenticator app. Write this code down by hand and store it in a safe place, note that you will not be able to view this code again later.

6. Once you’ve securely stored the backup code, click 'The backup code is safe' to finish.

Important

  • Keep your backup code secure. If you lose the mobile device with your authenticator app, you’ll need this code to regain access to your account.

  • Each time you deactivate and reactivate 2FA, a new backup code will be generated.

  • After enabling Google Authenticator 2FA, withdrawals can only be approved using Google Authenticator.
