API integration provides a significant advantage, especially for FinPros using a crypto tax platform such as Koinly or Crypto Tax Calculator. Once configured, transactions are automatically imported, saving time and effort, particularly for clients with extensive transaction volumes. This integration minimises errors from manual entries and ensures accurate, up-to-date reporting.
To connect client transactions via API, follow the steps below:
1. Log in to the FinPro Portal.
2. Find your client under the Clients List and click "Details".
3. Go to the "Integrations" tab and click "Generate API Key".
4. Choose the software for integration and click "Next".
5. Enter your Google Authenticator code when prompted.
6. Follow the instructions to paste the API Key and Secret into the designated fields on the chosen software. You can easily copy them by clicking on the respective symbol.
7. Once done, click "Complete".
